The intent of this competitive grant is to encourage municipalities to sustain their community forestry program and maintain their status as a Tree City USA through a celebratory tree planting in which a large specimen tree or a grove of trees is planted in a prominent location within the community.

The grants are made possible by a combination of U.S. Forest Service grant funds and unrestricted NYSUFC funds. Tree City USA Reward grants of up to $1000 each go to communities that have been a Tree City USA for at least the past five years. 

Based on competitive application, the fall 2022 awardees are: Village of Amityville, Village of Bellerose, Village of Brockport, Village of Canton, Village of Cooperstown, Village of Hastings-on-Hudson, Town of Huntington, Village of Nyack, Village of Perry, Village of Pleasantville, Town of Pound Ridge, Village of Red Hook, Village of Tuxedo Park, Village of Valley Stream, and Village of Warwick.🌳
