From NYSUFC President Steve Harris:

Hello New York State Urban Forestry Council members and potential members!

As 2022 comes to a close, we wanted to thank you for your support of the Council and highlight a benefit of membership that we hope you will take advantage of: conference scholarships. The Council has set aside funds for members to grow their knowledge base in all things trees through education (and continuing education) opportunities.

We want to highlight an upcoming opportunity: the New York State Arborists Annual Winter Conference & Expo to be held in Suffern NY on January 29 & 30, 2023. The Council is offering scholarships to cover the cost of registration. You have the option of attending one or both days of the conference. (It is common for people who do not work directly in the tree care industry to attend Monday only.) Funds will be reimbursed to attendees who have been awarded scholarships and attend the conference.

Applicants must be a dues-current member of the Council ($25/year, $10/year for students) to qualify. Receipts must be submitted for reimbursement. To apply, please complete the short application and email it to Glenn Gentzke at [email protected] by December 27, 2022.

If you need travel permission from your municipality, don’t delay; start now! 🌳
