The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) Urban and Community Forestry program is excited to announce the annual New York ReLeaf Conference from July 20–22, 2023, at Hofstra University in Hempstead, Long Island. Our conference theme is, “Keeping Trees in Mind; Planning for a Better Tomorrow,” and we are excited to share our speakers with you in the coming months.

The NY ReLeaf Conference is a partnership between NYSDEC, the New York State Urban Forestry Council (NYSUFC), and Hofstra University. Registration information will be available in the spring, and all are welcome to sign up and join us at the conference—to meet fellow tree people, hear about urban forestry projects happening on Long Island and across the state, and make new connections to help your urban forestry program grow.

Mark your calendars and watch for registration information in May!

To receive news and updates about this year’s ReLeaf Conference, as well as other urban forestry information, please subscribe to DEC Delivers for DEC’s monthly email newsletter, “Forests, Plants, and Land Conservation,” and also sign up for NYSUFC’s monthly e-newsletter, Taking Root.
