Kicking off at 8:00am on Monday 16 October, plan to pick up your name badge at the Renaissance Washington on Sunday, October 15th from 2pm-7pm. Every badge picked up on Sunday will plant a tree in Madagascar to restore critical lemur habitat. Learn more about this important planting project.

The island of Madagascar is an ecological wonder. Roughly 85% of its wildlife, including some 80 species of lemur, are found nowhere else on the planet. But the forests of Madagascar are disappearing. It’s estimated that 50% of the island’s original tree cover has been lost over the past 70 years. To date, the Madagascar Biodiversity Partnership has planted 5 million trees, 4 million of which were funded by Arbor Day Foundation supporters. “We would not be here without the Arbor Day Foundation,” Ed said. “The work that we’ve been doing could not be possible.”
